Panchkula, July 3 -- In a brazen attack on law enforcement during an anti-illegal mining operation, four men allegedly attempted to mow down a Panchkula Police team with a tractor after pelting stones at officials conducting a raid on illegal mining in the Ghaggar riverbed.
The police have arrested all four accused, seized the tractor-trolley and mining equipment used in the illegal operation, and booked them under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Mines and Minerals Act.
According to Panchkula Police, the incident occurred after the Sector-25 police outpost received information about illegal mining being carried out in the Ghaggar river bed near Sector-28 using tractor-trolleys.
