Varanasi, May 24 -- A tourist visiting the religious and spiritual city of Kashi died on Sunday after being beaten by private security guards.

Five young men from Sonbhadra arrived at Namo Ghat this morning. Private security guards and bouncers stopped them near Gate No. 2.

A dispute broke out over some issue, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Three young men were injured by the guards and bouncers. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information from locals and rushed the injured to the hospital, where Rajendra, alias Chintu, was declared dead.
