Sindhudurg, Sept. 9 -- With a view to highlighting the district prominently on the world tourism map, the Tourist Information Center of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) was inaugurated at Chipi Airport in Sindhudurg.
With this special initiative, tourists arriving in Sindhudurg by air will be welcomed in a more hospitable and well-planned manner, paving the way for a major boost to the overall tourism development of the district, asserted state Minister Nitesh Rane.
Explaining the need for this centre, Rane, who is also district guardian minister of Sindhudurg, said that this step has been taken to introduce tourists to the rich nature, historical forts and vast beaches of Konkan directly at the airport.
