Chandigarh, June 2 -- Congress MLA from Bholath and Chairman of the All India Kisan Congress, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, has urged the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to immediately stop toll collection at the Dhilwan and Mannawala toll plazas, claiming that the concession period for the Jalandhar-Amritsar highway project has already expired.
In a letter addressed to the Chief General Manager (Technical), NHAI Regional Office, Panchkula, Khaira stated that toll collection at the Dhilwan toll plaza in Kapurthala district and the Mannawala toll plaza in Amritsar district should have ceased on May 29, 2026, in accordance with information previously provided by NHAI under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
