Chennai, July 29 -- A day after Chief Minister Vijay dashed off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking withdrawal of the remarks of union MoS for Jalshakthi in Parliament that Karnataka need not get the consent of the lower riparian states to construct structures across River Cauvery triggering angry and emotive reactions from Tamil Nadu political parties, Water Resources Minister N.Anand on Wednesday reiterated the State government's firm opposition to Karnataka's proposed Mekedatu dam project and said all necessary legal measures would be taken to stall it.
