Hyderabad, March 13 -- Kethireddy Jagadishwara Reddy, founder and president of Tamilnadu Telugu Yuva Sakthi (TTYS), on Friday appealed to the Election Commission of India to postpone the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner, Reddy urged the poll panel to defer the elections until conditions stabilise, citing geopolitical tensions, economic hardships and public welfare concerns.

He said global conflicts and regional instability could pose security challenges during large-scale elections, while rising fuel prices and inflation have increased the cost of living for citizens.
