Chennai, May 21 -- After a Low Pressure area last week that brought good rains in southern and cauvery delta districts for a few days leading to significant reduction in mercury level, dog days returned to haunt several parts of Tamil Nadu, with 17 districts reeling under sweltering heat wave, recording temperatures in excess of 100 Deg F, with Chennai city topping the list, touching the season's highest ever 42 Deg C (about 108 Deg F, 107.6 to be precise) on Wednesday.
