Chennai, April 26 -- With its population estimated at 1,031 and 1,303 during the first and second surveys respectively, the Tamil Nadu Government, under Project Nilgiri Tahr, gas rolled out the third synchronized survey of the Nilgiri Tahr across its entire population range in the State.
The 4-day survey, will conclude tomorrow (Monday).
Environment, Climate Change and Forest Department Additional Chief Secretary Ms Supriya Sahu said this annual exercise has become a key component of long-term conservation planning for Tamil Nadu's State Animal.
