Chennai, June 22 -- Listing out the expeditious steps taken by Chief Minister Vijay soon after the ammonia gas leak tragedy ata seafood processing and export facility near Periyapalaym in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, Minister for Labour Welfare Skill department Minister J Mohammed Farvas told the State Assembly on Monday that the number of fatalities rose to five and 67 workers are undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals.
Making a Statement Under Rule 110 in the Assembly, he said the leak occurred due to a glitch in the pipeline valve taking gas to ice flakes generator machine.
