Chennai, June 17 -- In a major boost to industrial development, the Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday signed a Memorandumof Understanding (MoU) with Hyundai Group's HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering (HD-KSOE) for construction of a greenfield shipbuilding yard involving a massive investment of Rs 38,000 crore and with IN-SPACe to establish a Rs 100 crore Common Technology Facility (CTF) for space vehicles.
Both the projects would come up at the southern Thoothukudi district.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay at the State Secretariat after top honchos of the companyies held detailed discussions with him and explained the project.
