Chennai, June 20 -- A prominent fruit carving artist has sent a unique gift to President Droupadi Murmu on her birthday today -- a photo of carving her image in a Water melon.
The artist, Elanchezhian took less than an hour to carve the President's image. He carved it a couple of days, took a photo, framed it and sent it to Rashtrapathi Bhavan by speed post.
Talking to UNI, Elanchezhiyan, a native of Gudalur in southern Theni district falling under the Western Ghat region, said he had sent the photo along with a letter extending his birthday wishes to her on June 15 and it was received by Rashtrapathi Bhavan on June 18.
And today, he followed it up by sending the fruit carving images by e-mail along with his wishes to mark the occasion....
