Chennai, May 12 -- In a move that initiated within three days of assuming charge and repeated demands for implementing total Prohibition, Tamil Nadu Chief MinistermandTVK Founder C Joseph Vijay on Tuesday ordered closure of 717 state-owned TASMAC liquor retail outlets functioning within 500m radius of places of worship, educational institutions and bus stands across the state within the next two weeks.
This move was widely appreciated by leaders of various political parties that too within days of assuming office and congrtulated the Chief Minister for his action.
