Kolkata, March 19 -- Amid the ongoing election atmosphere in West Bengal, the body of a Trinamul Congress (TMC) worker was recovered from North 24-Parganas on Thursday morning, triggering tension in the area.

The deceased has been identified as Mashiur Kazi (38), a resident of Gangnia village under Chapatala panchayat in Deganga. His blood-soaked body was found lying by the roadside at Jhujurgachha village under Haroa police station limits.

According to local sources, villagers first spotted the body wrapped in a blanket early in the morning and immediately alerted the police.
