New Delhi, March 16 -- Members of the All India Trinamool Congress in Rajya Sabha on Monday walked out of the House accusing the Election Commission of India of misusing its powers following the alleged late-night removal of senior officials from the West Bengal administration.

During the proceedings, Trinamool MPs raised the issue of the removal of the state's Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Home Secretary by the poll body, calling the move arbitrary and undemocratic. The protest escalated as party members expressed strong objections to the actions of the Chief Election Commissioner.
