Kolkata, June 4 -- A Salt Lake court on Thursday remanded Jay Prakash Majumdar, a state vice-president and official spokesperson of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), to six days of police custody.
Majumdar was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly molesting his female landlord and refusing to vacate the premises for years.
Majumdar was arrested by a team from Bidhannagar North Police Station following a complaint lodged by Arati Raychaudhuri, who alleged that he had continued to occupy her property for more than a decade after the expiry of a tenancy agreement.
According to the complaint, Majumdar had rented the flat located in Salt Lake's AE Block (AE-337) in 2012. The lease agreement allegedly expired in 2015 and was never renewed. Despite r...
