Kolkata, April 16 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) lodged a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that Humayun Kabir, a candidate of the Am Janata Unnayan Party in the West Bengal assembly election, has violated the model code of conduct and indulged in criminal intimidation.

The complaint cites a recent video in which Kabir, while addressing a press conference, allegedly made derogatory and defamatory remarks against Abhishek Banerjee and other leaders of the party.

The TMC has claimed that the video clearly indicates a deliberate attempt to intimidate political opponents.

It alleged that Kabir's statements carried implications that could influence the electoral atmosphere and instill fear among voters.
