New Delhi, June 16 -- The ruling Trinamool Congress on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on a breakaway political group in West Bengal, asserting that the people of the state continue to stand firmly behind Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the party's leadership.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, senior Trinamool Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Saugata Roy drew a contrast between what he described as the "TMC team" and a "GADDAR (traitor) team", claiming that the breakaway formation lacked both public support and political relevance.
