Kolkata, June 17 -- A day after reshuffle in Trinamool Congress, the party was hit by fresh setbacks as two senior leaders moved away from key organisational responsibilities, triggering speculation over the party's internal situation following the recent Assembly election defeat.
Former MLA of Katwa Rabindranath Chatterjee resigned as the East Burdwan district president of the Trinamool Congress on Wednesday.
He sent his resignation letter to state president Chandrima Bhattacharya, although it was not immediately clear whether the resignation had been accepted.
Sources said the veteran leader, in his seventies, sought relief from the responsibility citing health reasons.
