Chennai, Sept. 10 -- A Judicial Magistrate Court in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu has awarded two years jail term to anex-AIADMK MP in a 2016 bigamy case.
Awarding the jail term, Tiruvallur District Judicial Magistrate-1 Court Judge Sunil Vinodh also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 failing which, the former MP N S Jegannathan, elected to the Lok Sabha from Sriperumbudur in 1977, has to undergo an additional onemonth imprisonment.
The Judge, however, suspended the operation of the sentence for a month to enable him to file an appeal against the sentence and also granted him bail after executing a bond of Rs 10,000.
