Tirumala, Aug. 28 -- : Scholars on Friday highlighted the significance of the Vaikhanasa Agama tradition, describing it as a distinct Vedic Agama system founded by Sage Vikhanasa.
A special programme was organised at the Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala to mark the birth anniversary of Sage Vikhanasa.
The event was jointly organised by the TTD Alwar Divya Prabandha Project and the Sri Vaikhanasa Divya Siddhanta Vivardhini Sabha.
The scholars said the Vaikhanasa tradition, based on the Vaikhanasa Kalpasutra, provides systematic guidelines for temple construction, consecration, worship and conduct of festivals.
