New Delhi, June 4 -- : Rain lashed parts of Delhi on Thursday afternoon, bringing respite from days of scorching heat. Grey skies took over the national capital, with reports of brief rumbling thunderstorms accompanied by strong surface winds.
Until 2:30 pm on Thursday, Mayur Vihar station recorded the highest rainfall at 23 mm, which falls under the IMD's 'moderate rain' category. Ayanagar, Pushp Vihar, Palam, and Pragati Maidan also recorded light rainfall, with gauges measuring 14.2, 10.5, 5.8 mm, and 3.6 mm, respectively, between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm, according to IMD.
