Thrissur, April 23 -- Pooram lovers will be disappointed this year as both Paramekkavu andThiruvambadi Devawams, the two stakeholders of the famous Pooram festival, have decided toforego the magnificent fireworks display, the main attraction of the iconic festival.
This decision was taken as a tribute to the 15 people who were killed in the manufacturing of firework store sheds at Mundathicode, just 8 km from here, on Tuesday.
After a two-hour meeting called by ministers and the collector, both the Devaswam authoritieshave conveyed their decision to abandon the fireworks display in the wake of the major fire accident.
