Bengaluru, June 25 -- Karnataka Assembly Leader of Opposition R Ashoka was on Thursday allotted an official government residence in Bengaluru, ending a wait of nearly three years since the Congress came to power in the state.
The Karnataka Government allotted Residence No. 31 on Sankey Road to the senior BJP leader as part of a wider exercise to allocate official accommodation to Ministers and senior constitutional functionaries.
The allotment comes after Ashoka repeatedly flagged the issue, contending that despite holding the constitutional post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, he had not been provided an official residence since the Congress government assumed office in 2023.
