Shillong, Aug. 20 -- In a major late-night development, the Meghalaya Police raided the Khasi Students' union (KSU) central headquarters on Jaiaw Chapel Road and arrested three top-ranking leaders in connection with vandalism during the outfit's black-flag bike rally held in Shillong earlier in the day.

Those arrested include KSU President Raymond Kharjana, Vice-President Pynkmenlang Sanmiet, and General Secretary Reuben Najiar.

"We have arrested them in connection with the assault on civilians, vandalism of 31 vehicles, including one vehicle set ablaze and public properties, and for creating a fear psychosis during their black-flag bike rally," Vivek Syiem, the district police chief of East Khasi Hills, said.
