Shimla, May 8 -- In a major crackdown on habitual drug traffickers, Shimla district police detained three repeat offenders under the stringent provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act.

Police said the action was taken to ensure strict preventive measures against persons repeatedly involved in narcotics trafficking and to prevent them from re-engaging in criminal activities.

The accused have been identified as Sachin Shyam alias Sachchu, a resident of Nankhari area, Deepak Rajta of Rohru subdivision, and Shubham Kashyap of Sunni area in Shimla district.
