Bhubaneswar, June 30 -- Three retired government officials were convicted by Special Vigilance Courts in Odisha on Tuesday in separate corruption cases involving misappropriationof government funds and possession of disproportionate assets, the Odisha Vigilance said.
Among those convicted was Ganeswar Giri, former Development Clerk-cum-Store In-charge of Champua Block in Kendujhar district, who was found guilty of misappropriation of government funds between 2007-08 and 2010-11 by manipulating the block's cement stock register.
The Special Vigilance Court at Kendujhar sentenced him to two years' rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
