Agartala, Aug. 20 -- The Tripura Human Rights Commission has directed the Director General of Police (DGP), Tripura, to investigate allegations of illegal detention, harassment, and coercive conduct by personnel of the Bishalgarh Police Station in Sepahijala district.

The Commission initiated the inquiry after receiving a complaint from Sadhan Paul, a resident of Udaipur in Gomati district, against the Officer-in-Charge and other personnel of Bishalgarh Police Station for harassing him.

According to the complaint, Paul's son, Susanta Paul, was taken into custody by Bishalgarh police on August 4 without being informed about the reasons for his arrest. He was allegedly held for over 24 hours before being presented before the court on August...
