Agartala, Feb. 25 -- Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has initiated proceedings on the allegation made against a Member of the District Council (MDC) from Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), who solicited Rs 22 lakh from a government official.
Allegedly, Hangsa Kumar Tripura, an elected member of ADC from BJP's ally TIPRA Motha, pressured an Executive Engineer to release funds associated with a development initiative.
This funding was reportedly allocated for the construction of a four-kilometre road linking ADC Village in the Tribal Colony area to Bhagyamani Roypara under the Chawmanu Sub-Zonal Office in Dhalai district.
