Thiruvananthapuram, June 3 -- Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has strengthened its emergency response and aviation safety infrastructure with the induction of a state-of-the-art Rosenbauer Panther Crash Fire Tender equipped with a High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET), the first such vehicle to be deployed at an airport in Kerala.

Operated by TRV (Kerala) International Airport Limited, the airport said the advanced firefighting vehicle represents a significant technological upgrade in aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) operations.

The HRET system can extend and pierce an aircraft fuselage, allowing firefighters to deliver water, foam, or other extinguishing agents directly into passenger cabins or cargo compartments.
