New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Lieutenant General Ajay Ramdev, Director General Integrated Training and Colonel Commandant, Army Service Corps, on Friday flagged off the India-Argentina Joint Army Mountaineering Expedition to Mt Kamet (7,756 metres) at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.
Led by Lieutenant Colonel Chirag Chatterjee, the expedition comprises 35 personnel, including 25 from the Indian Army and 10 from the Argentine Army. Located in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, Mt Kamet is India's third-highest peak and will test the expedition members' endurance, technical mountaineering skills and ability to operate as a cohesive team in challenging high-altitude conditions.
