New Delhi, June 11 -- A vessel carrying 20 Indian seafarers came under attack off Oman's Shinas port on Thursday in what marks the third assault on ships with Indian crew in West Asia within a single week, deepening alarm over the safety of commercial shipping lanes as regional tensions spiral.

The Indian Embassy in Oman confirmed the incident, saying it was in active coordination with local authorities. "We have learnt of an incident involving a vessel off Shinas Port of Oman earlier today. We are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with local authorities for further details," the Embassy said in a post on X.
