Darbhanga, April 8 -- In a major boost to educational infrastructure, the Central Government has approved the immediate operationalisation of a third Kendriya Vidyalaya in Darbhanga under its ambitious school expansion programme.
The new school, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KV No. 3), will be set up in the AIIMS campus, making Darbhanga the first among 14 identified districts in Bihar to fulfil all conditions required for opening a new Kendriya Vidyalaya in the civil sector.
The Centre had earlier approved 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country, including 19 for Bihar. Of these, one each in Katihar and Sitamarhi are designated under the defence sector, while Darbhanga's KV No. 3 marks the district's third such institution.
