Hyderabad, July 2 -- The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has temporarily suspended the operation of all JBM electric buses across the state, placing passenger safety above all else following recurring high-voltage battery-related incidents.
The decision comes in the wake of a fresh incident involving a JBM electric bus, even before the final report on the June 21 bus fire near Alugunur in Karimnagar district was received.
TGSRTC has asked JBM to submit a comprehensive report covering the causes of the incidents, permanent remedial measures, battery fitness certification and the establishment of a Command Control Centre at Hyderabad Bus Bhavan to monitor the fleet.
