Agartala, July 29 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed the goal of making Tripura hepatitis-free within the next four years through increased screening, vaccination, and public awareness campaigns while addressing the celebration of World Hepatitis Day last evening.
Dr Saha emphasized the government's commitment to prioritizing public health and highlighted the global impact of hepatitis, with nearly 300 million people affected by Hepatitis B and C viruses worldwide.
He also commemorated the significance of World Hepatitis Day, which marks the birth anniversary of Dr Baruch Blumberg, the discoverer of Hepatitis B virus and its vaccine.
