BD NarayankarWayanad, July 12 -- The ancient Sree Thirunelly Mahavishnu Temple, where Lord Rama is believed to have performed the last rites of his father, King Dasaratha, and whose nearby Gunnikan shrine is traditionally associated with sage Agastya Muni, has launched a renewed appeal to devotees to help preserve its architectural legacy through an Rs 8-crore Chuttambalam renovation project.
P.B. Keshavdas, Hereditary Trustee of the temple, said the devotees' committee has so far mobilised Rs 3.5 crore since the fundraising campaign was launched in 2018 and urged devotees across the country to extend financial support for completing the remaining work.
