Hyderabad, March 14 -- Telangana Power utilities created history on March 13 by supplying a record 341.08 million units (MU) of electricity in a single day.
At 11:17 AM, the state met a peak demand of 18,228 MW, surpassing previous records of 335.19 MU and 17,162 MW set in March 2025.
Officials attributed the surge to rising temperatures and increased agricultural power consumption.
The state's power infrastructure has been strengthened to handle future needs, with the capacity to meet daily energy requirements exceeding 350 MU and peak loads around 19,000 MW.
A robust power grid and coordinated operational planning ensure uninterrupted supply even during periods of high demand.
