Hyderabad, May 11 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao on Monday directed officials to ensure adequate urea stocks for the upcoming Kharif season and urged the Centre to expedite pending fertiliser supplies to the state.

During a review meeting at the Secretariat with fertiliser company representatives and Agriculture Department officials, the Minister said the state currently has a buffer stock of 1.46 lakh metric tonnes of urea along with around 10,000 metric tonnes of DAP and complex fertilisers.

He noted that while Telangana had sought an allocation of 11.50 lakh metric tonnes of urea for the Kharif 2026 season, the Centre sanctioned only 10 lakh metric tonnes.
