Hyderabad, Aug. 7 -- State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has formally commenced exploration of gold and copper deposits in Karnataka's Devadurga Block after signing an agreement with the Karnataka Department of Mines and Geology (DMG).
The agreement was signed in Bengaluru by Karnataka DMG Director Rangappa and SCCL Director (Projects & Planning) K. Venkateshwarlu, marking the start of exploration activities in the 199.13 sq. km block spread across Raichur and Yadgir districts, the mining company said in a release here today.
SCCL had earlier secured the exploration licence for the block through the Government of India's mineral auction process.
