Hyderabad, May 26 -- Telangana Police on Tuesday said the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) was witnessing a "steady decline" and nearing organisational collapse, following a series of surrenders and intensified anti-Maoist operations in the State.
Addressing a press conference after the surrender of senior Maoist leaders Pasunoori Narahari alias Vishwanath alias Salai Da and Medara Danamma alias Latha alias Poonam alias Joba, Director General of Police CV Anand said the outfit's last surviving Eastern Regional Bureau appeared to be "on the verge of collapse".
