Hyderabad, Aug. 19 -- Telangana Police is rationalising its manpower to meet changing crime and public safety challenges, with a focus on cybercrime, drugs, road safety, traffic management and other emerging threats, Director-General of Police C V Anand said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Telangana Police Academy, Anand said policing had changed significantly from the days when Left-Wing Extremism and terrorism were the major challenges. As part of the restructuring, 513 personnel from specialised units, including Greyhounds, OCTOPUS and SIB, are being redeployed across eight departments based on operational requirements.
