Hyderabad, Aug. 10 -- With the surrender of senior CPI (Maoist) leader and State Committee Member Kakarala Samatha alias Madhavi, Durga, Shakeela and Mase on Monday, the Telangana Police said only three active underground CPI (Maoist) cadres from Telangana remained in different Maoist formations outside the state and appealed to them to give up armed struggle and return to the mainstream.
The three are Muppala Laxman Rao alias Ganapathi, a Central Committee Member; Jade Ratna Bai alias Sujatha, a State Committee Member; and Vartha Shekhar alias Mangthu, a State Committee Member, a police release said here.
The number of active underground cadres from Telangana had declined sharply over the past four years.
