Mahabubnagar/Hyderabad, May 30 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday claimed that the State had achieved record paddy procurement during the current Rabi season, while union Minister G. Kishan Reddy accused the Congress government of failing to procure paddy effectively and attempting to shift the blame to the Centre.
Reviewing paddy procurement operations in Mahabubnagar district, Uttam said Telangana had procured more than 62 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy so far during the current Rabi season, significantly higher than Andhra Pradesh's 23 LMT and Tamil Nadu's 11.48 LMT.
