Hyderabad, Aug. 12 -- Telangana on Wednesday launched a two-month intensified Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign on HIV/AIDS and Syphilis to promote awareness, self-risk assessment and voluntary testing across the state.
Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched the campaign at HMDA Grounds here. The campaign, being implemented under National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) guidelines, will continue till October 12.
As part of the launch, the Minister flagged off a bike rally with over 50 bikes, an auto rally with more than 25 autos and a walkathon involving over 1,600 participants. A Mobile ICTC Van rally was also held from HMDA Grounds to People's Plaza and back.
