Hyderabad, May 21 -- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday announced a major revision in minimum wages for workers across Telangana, stating that around 1.11 crore workers would benefit from the new wage structure that will come into force from June 1, 2026.

Addressing a media conference at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said the decision was taken after the government constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu to examine the issue of workers' wages.

Revanth Reddy alleged that workers had suffered losses due to the negligence of the previous government and said the present government had taken a historic decision in the interest of labour welfare.
