Hyderabad, Aug. 22 -- Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh on Saturday stressed the need for timely and specialised mechanisms to resolve disputes in the telecom, broadcasting, airport tariff and cyber sectors.
Addressing a seminar on "Mechanisms for Resolution of Disputes in Airport Tariffs, Telecom, Broadcasting and Cyber Sectors", Justice Aparesh Kumar said specialised adjudicatory institutions were increasingly important for dealing with technically complex regulatory disputes.
He said the liberalisation of the telecom sector and entry of private players had necessitated new regulatory and adjudicatory frameworks, with the establishment of TRAI in 1997 and TDSAT in 2000 marking important milestones.
