Hyderabad, May 14 -- Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday announced a 50 per cent reduction in his convoy size following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for austerity and fuel conservation measures.
Lok Bhavan is implementing the initiative without compromising security arrangements.
The Prime Minister had set an example by reducing the number of vehicles in his own convoy despite security concerns, he told reporters here.
Shukla said that since assuming office as Governor of Telangana, he had been working towards curtailing vehicle usage and had now directed that the use of vehicles at Lok Bhavan be reduced by half.
