Hyderabad, Sept. 10 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu informed the Assembly on Wednesday that the State Government has introduced a free accidental insurance scheme with coverage of up to Rs 1 crore for government employees, pensioners and eligible contract and outsourcing staff.
Replying to questions during Question Hour, Bhatti said the scheme, implemented through an agreement with 16 banks, covers nearly 12.91 lakh beneficiaries, including 5.18 lakh regular employees, 5 lakh temporary and contract workers, and 2.72 lakh pensioners and family pensioners.
