Hyderabad, July 15 -- The Telangana government on Wednesday dismissed reports alleging irregularities in the implementation of the Telangana Working Journalists' Welfare Fund, stating that they were based on distorted facts and created unnecessary misconceptions among journalists and the public.
In a statement, the government said that after assuming office in December 2023, it introduced several reforms to make the Welfare Fund more transparent, accountable and efficient. Welfare Fund Committee meetings, which were earlier held at long intervals, are now conducted every three months, ensuring timely scrutiny and disposal of applications.
