Hyderabad, March 17 -- In a major push towards sustainable agriculture, the Telangana government has launched the distribution of 'farmer kits' to over 61,000 farmers across the state under the National Natural Farming Mission.
Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao formally inaugurated the programme during the 86th episode of the 'Rythu Nestam' video conference held from the Secretariat, handing over kits to selected farmers from Ranga Reddy district.
Addressing the farmers, the Minister emphasised the need to shift towards natural farming, citing concerns over the excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides, which he said are harmful to both human health and the environment. He noted that traditional farming methods offer ...
