Hyderabad, April 27 -- The Telangana government on Monday decided to press for a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directing officials to initiate steps in this regard.
The Chief Minister has instructed that a formal request be sent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking an immediate probe.
He also asked ministers to seek an appointment with the CBI Director, if necessary, to submit a memorandum urging an investigation.
The decision follows a review meeting held by the Chief Minister along with Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy after a recent High Court verdict related to the project.
